Report: What your business needs to know about gender pay gap reporting

The CBI, in partnership with global law firm CMS, has produced guidance to ensure businesses are ready for gender pay gap reporting, which takes effect from April 2017.

The report offers practical advice on positioning your organisation on gender pay and step-by-step guidance on calculating and reporting the pay gap in line with statutory requirements. The guidance goes on to suggest using the insights gained from analysing pay data to inform the steps that can be taken to improve gender diversity.

It highlights that the gender pay gap is mainly caused by occupational segregation and that there is an important distinction between gender pay and equal pay. It also highlights that closing the gender pay gap will benefit business and the economy.
